GREEN SPACES TO REPLACE PARKING LOTS
The city council of Riverton has announced that three downtown parking lots will be turned into community gardens by next spring. According to the council, the decision follows a survey in which most residents said they had been using their cars less often since the opening of a new bus line. Local schools will be invited to grow vegetables in the gardens, and part of the harvest will be donated to food banks.
