Report from the Waste Committee of Maple Bay
Last year, our town collected 1,200 tonnes of household waste. Only 96 tonnes were recycled, even though the committee estimates that about half of the waste could have been. Most residents say they want to recycle but do not know which items go in each bin. Starting in March, every household will receive a simple illustrated guide, and volunteers will visit neighbourhoods to answer questions.
